I don't know about all of you, but when I visit Facebook, I often see posts by friends about issues of the day. I don't always agree with my friends' views, but usually I don't feel it's the best idea to leave comments, especially if I haven't spoken with my friend since, oh, say, high school.
However, lately, given the vote in North Carolina, I've been seeing a lot of stuff about "same-sex marriage", and so I started commenting on stuff, and getting into conversations, and replying, until finally I realized I had produced what amounts to a poorly written, meandering essay on the subject.
I thought I would post most of the key exchanges here (which feature repeated misspellings of the word "sandwich") as sort of a memory dump of my thoughts on the issue, for anyone who's interested, or who is having trouble falling to sleep.

I am famous!
Tonight I attended a Rick Santorum town hall style campaign event. WLTX ran a story on it, featuring me, as you can tell by the screen capture below (click to enlarge):
There were actually quite a few people there, and I got a yard sign and some bumper stickers.
Now that I'm famous, I'm sure to be constantly fielding interview requests, so I might not be able to blog as frequently as before, but don't worry, my family keeps me grounded.

Jeff Mobley Endorses Rick Santorum for President!
Just thought I'd throw up some links.
Here's a piece about Ron Paul that I thought made a very good point.
Here is an article that describes some comments made by Rick Santorum at a campaign stop in Iowa,
and here is an article noting that Santorum just received the personal endorsement of Bob Vander Plaats, a big conservative activist in Iowa. This is the guy who ran Mike Huckabee's Iowa operation in 2008.
I keep telling people I like Santorum, and I'm finally going to go ahead and say

Gresham Barrett Backs Rick Santorum
I'm posting this just to make sure I don't give up on this thing. I thought this was interesting.

I'm back and not any better than ever!
I have decided to start actually using this blog for something.
This means that there will probably be at least two more posts in the next year and a half.
Seriously, I am thinking about using this blog primarily to catalog my thoughts on the 2012 presidential race. In particular, the campaign for the Republican nomination. This should be fun.
I promise I won't completely limit my posts to political topics. I'll also be sure to feature other, equally dull topics, so don't worry!
First up are my comments on the recent debate amongst most of the Republican candidates. The debate included Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Tim Pawlenty, Michelle Bachmann, Ron Paul, and Herman Cain.
As of right now, it looks like the entire debate is still viewable on CNN's website.
What is most interesting to me is how quickly the media declares a winner, and how different the analysis is from my immediate impressions of the debate.

If you're reading this, I'm amazed.
Welcome to my blog. This is the first post. It may also be the last, but we'll see. Even as I type, my wife is telling me that we already have a blog. But this one is mine. All mine. Bwahahahah!
I don't know what I'll use this for. Maybe movie reviews, maybe political observations, maybe other stuff. One thing is for sure: If you are as psyched as I am about this blog, then you're pretty laid back about it, which I think is appropriate.
